A Work-From-Home, Homeschooling Mom Reality Check

It sounds absolutely crazy on paper… but there are so many of us living like this right now.
Working from home.
Running a household.
Cleaning, cooking, laundry, emails, deadlines.
Trying to be intentional parents.
And somehow… also homeschooling our kids.
Honestly moms… are we okay?
How are we even functioning in this level of chaos?
But the truth is, there are so many different versions of us.
There are the moms who wish they could afford to stay home without needing to work.
The moms who wish they had more help.
The moms who secretly think it would be easier to just work outside the home.
The moms trying to build businesses while raising babies.
The moms trying to create slower, more intentional lives for their families while still keeping up with the demands of modern life.
And yet here we are.
Women today almost carry this mentality of: we want it all.
And when do we want it?
Now.
And honestly? Sometimes it’s beautiful. Sometimes it’s exhausting.
At the end of the day, we’re drained wondering, “Why am I doing this again?”
Then one of those tiny little moments happens.
Your child suddenly reads a full level higher all on their own.
You finish a work project — maybe by the skin of your teeth — but you finish it well and nobody even realizes how hard you worked behind the scenes to make it happen.
You finally answer the emails sitting in your inbox for five… okay maybe ten days.
Or somehow, by absolute miracle, you fit everything you needed to do into one afternoon.
Those are the holy grail days.
And even on the days where you don’t get it all done?
You are still doing an incredible job.
You do not have to be an overachiever every single day to be successful. If you were, you wouldn’t even be human anymore — you’d be a robot.
You are still a hero every single day.
A hero to yourself.
A loving caregiver to your family.
A hardworking woman building something meaningful.
There’s something powerful about those quiet moments at the end of the day — when the laundry is finally washed, dinner is prepped, the kids are outside playing instead of watching TV for the third hour straight, and your work checklist is finally complete.
That moment where you finally sit down and think:
“This is why I do it.”
Not because it’s easy.
But because you chose this life intentionally.
You learn to give yourself grace when you fail.
You humble yourself when your mental load becomes too much.
You get back up again and again.
You learn patience.
You learn more about yourself and your children.
And you appreciate your husband, partner, family, or support system even more when they step in to help carry the load.
This life may be chaotic… but it’s also deeply meaningful.
And maybe the biggest truth of all is this:
You are not the only mom living this way.
There is an entire community of women trying to build beautiful lives while balancing work, motherhood, business, homeschooling, caregiving, and personal growth all at the same time.
So this summer, moms — do you want to meet up with your kiddos and be surrounded by other women who truly get it?
Other working moms.
Work-from-home moms.
Stay-at-home moms.
Homeschool moms.
Women building businesses during nap time and answering emails from the kitchen counter.

Because sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is realize we were never meant to do it all alone.
Join the Babes in Business North Jersey community this summer for connection, support, and events designed for women building businesses and building families at the same time.
